Held exclusively for the
needs of HR decision-makers from across the region,
the HR Directors' Forum 06
is renowned as Asia-Pacific's leading industry event
where delegates and speakers share new HR models to
help cope with today's corporate challenges.
Following the success of the Hong Kong Forum this
April, the Shanghai HR Directors' Forum 2006 was held
last July with over 300 senior business and HR executives
taking part. All were inspired during this 2-day conference
that was filled with over 20 presentations, workshops,
team-building facilitation sessions, plus sponsor showcase
and networking opportunities. Attendees were also able
to effectively share and develop cutting-edge strategies
for leadership development, talent recruitment and
retention, and other areas of interest.
As the sole online job site participating at the Forum,
A-Performers.com also served as Gold Sponsor. "It marked
a significant new level of exposure for us, and we
felt that we made a big impression on delegates with
our powerful online recruitment platform. In addition,
we received valuable insights on career market trends."
According to Key Media, the event organizer, over
70% of delegates at the event were HR directors, vice
presidents and managers, while 11% were in positions
ranging from managing director and chief executive
officer to prominent business leaders, among which
82% came from companies with over 300 employees.
A wide diversity of HR approaches and challenges were
presented and reviewed. These included online recruitment,
outsourcing revitalisation, cost efficient and effective
remuneration packages, work-life balance initiatives,
company culture management, development of a happier
and more productive workplace, career development programme
for high performers, and other strategies amidst a
rapidly evolving, highly mobile HR community in China.
"The entire scope of the conference was extremely
well planned and executed with workshops being both
relevant and highly valuable," says Mr. Alan Tin,
deputy general manager for human resources at Shui
On Development.
That view was also shared by Mr. Richard Zong, assistant
director for eastern regional human resources at McDonald's
(China)."We were kept informed on how our HR peers
were coping with current issues and we learned about
their practices, too," said Zong.
